R package with advanced statistical functions for baseball
This R package contains several functions to calculate advanced stats when working with baseball stat datasets.
For batting statistics, these advanced functions include: BABIP ( batting average on balls in play) CT (contact rate) GPA (gross production average) ISO (isolated power) RC (runs created)
Advanced pitching statistics include: DICE (defense-independent component ERA) ERC (component ERA) PTB (pitcher's total bases)
mlbstats contains 2 datasets ready to use from www.baseball-reference.com: BOS_batting (2018 postseason batting stats for World Series champions Boston Red Sox) BOS_pitching (2018 postseason pitching stats for World Series champions Boston Red Sox)
