Adapting common search tools to identify crosslinked peptides

The original xComb strategy is a method to detect crosslinked peptides in shotgun proteomics data through the creation of a specialized fasta database. The original manuscript by Panchaud et al explains this concept in great detail. The xcombr package contains a reimplementation of this strategy, rather than the original Perl scripts (which are also available here).
