This package implements the MECA, or Missy Elliott Cryptography Algorithm. Specifically, if you gotta big string, lemme search it
> mec::bitprint("a")
01100001
shift yo bits down
11000010
flip it
00111101
and reverse it.
10111100
Inspired by the Ruby project missy_elliott, which is itself inspired from an ancient XKCD comic.
library(mec)
str <- "abc"
str
# [1] "abc"
enc <- encode(str)
enc
# [1] "\xbcܜ"
dec <- decode(enc)
dec
# [1] "abc"
encode(letters)
# a b c d e f g h i j k
# "\xbc" "\xdc" "\x9c" "\xec" "\xac" "\xcc" "\x8c" "\xf4" "\xb4" "\xd4" "\x94"
# l m n o p q r s t u v
# "\xe4" "\xa4" "\xc4" "\x84" "\xf8" "\xb8" "\xd8" "\x98" "\xe8" "\xa8" "\xc8"
# w x y z
# "\x88" "\xf0" "\xb0" "\xd0"
There is also a utility you can use to convince yourself that it really does work the way I say it does:
bitprint(str)
# 01100001
# 01100010
# 01100011
bitprint(enc)
# 10111100
# 11011100
# 10011100
