Measurement accountability: pupil latency, event plausibility, and validation

This workflow adds three conservative measurement-accountability diagnostics.

Pupil latency sensitivity

pupil_latency_sensitivity() compares a sustained-threshold onset, maximum-slope tangent onset, and piecewise breakpoint. Report estimator spread and the latency_resolvability assessment rather than treating one latency as hardware- or algorithm-independent.

Event-marker plausibility

event_marker_qc() evaluates corroborating channel offsets and returns confirmed, plausible, ambiguous, or implausible, plus a consensus offset and uncertainty. It is explicitly not a clock-synchronization or drift-correction routine; use the existing timebase/synchronization tools for that layer.

Validation ladder

validation_ladder() separates acquisition QC, analytical QC, construct checking, within-person evidence, and held-out-person generalization. A generalization claim cannot be marked supported unless held-out-person validation passes.

The implementation is independent and transparent. Methodological motivation includes DOI 10.1038/s41598-026-68921-9, DOI 10.3389/fnrgo.2026.1911259, and DOI 10.1007/s12028-026-02637-6.
