prob2grv: Convert a Vector of Annual Nonexceedance Probabilities to...

Description Usage Arguments Value Author(s) References See Also Examples

Description

This function converts a vector of annual nonexceedance probabilities F to Gumbel reduced variates (GRV, grv; Hosking and Wallis [1997, p. 92])

grv = -\log(-\log(F))\mbox{,}

where 0 ≤ F ≤ 1. The Gumbel distribution (quagum), which is a special case of the Generalized Extreme Value (quagev), will plot as a straightline when the horizontal axis is GRV transformed.

Usage
