Maddison Project Database
Description
This package contains the
Maddison Project Database, which
contains estimates of GDP per capita for all countries in the world between
AD 1 and 2016, in a format amenable to analysis in R.
Usage
maddison
Format
A data frame with 12 variables:
yearYear of estimate
countrycodeCountry code used in the original database.
Differs from iso3c for only two former countries, Czechoslovakia and
Yugoslavia, which have no ISO country code.
countryCountry name, standardized from those found in the
original database using the countrycode package.
cgdppcCurrent GDP per capita in 2011 U.S. dollars
rgdpnapcReal GDP per capita in 2011 U.S. dollars
popPopulation
i_cigWhether observation is extrapolated/interpolated/benchmark
i_bmType of benchmark estimate
iso2cCountry ISO-2C code (missing for Czechoslovakia and
Yugoslavia)
iso3cCountry ISO-3C code (missing for Czechoslovakia and
Yugoslavia)
continentCountry continent
regionCountry region
The database was last updated in 2018.
