Reverse information projection onto a fixed propDiff

Description

The null pair (nullThetaA, nullThetaA - propDiff) closest in KL divergence to (thetaA, thetaB) for one block: the root of the derivative of na KL(thetaA || nullThetaA) + nb KL(thetaB || nullThetaB).

Usage

solveRIPr2x2PropDiff(thetaA, thetaB, na, nb, propDiff, tol = 1e-12)

Arguments

thetaA, thetaB

numeric in (0, 1), the alternative's proportions.

na

number of observations in group A per data block, one value or one per block.

nb

number of observations in group B per data block, one value or one per block.

propDiff

numeric in (-1, 1), the null difference thetaA - thetaB.

tol

numeric > 0, the tolerance of stats::uniroot(), also kept from the edges of the search interval.

Value

A numeric, nullThetaA.
