Functions in this package will allow users to download data from https://www.nhtsa.gov/research-data/fatality-analysis-reporting-system-fars1 [Fatality Analysis Reporting System]. These functions are built for user to import data, conduct some basic analysis, etc.

Description and examples of the available function

fars_read function function reads your data file downloaded from the https://www.nhtsa.gov/research-data/fatality-analysis-reporting-system-fars [Fatality Analysis Reporting System]. If file you are trying to read doesn't exist on the fars database then you will get a message filename does not exist. Data will be read using the read_csv function from the readr package. Dataframe will be stored in tbl_df format using the dplyr package.

make_filename function uses year as an argument and create file name by embedding year given as an argument to create a file. File name is created by pasting accident and the input year and saving it in csv.bz2 format.
