TASSE_AWAR Documentation

Calculates TASSE terrain attributes with various window sizes

Description

Calculates TASSE terrain attributes using an nxn window including relative deviation from mean value (rdmv), aspect, eastness, norhtnessm slope, standard deviation, and local mean. Depth is assumed to be negative values in calculation. By default if any values within window are NA, calculated value is NA. Slope and aspect are returned in degrees. (Lecours et al; 2017, Towards a framework for terrain attribute selection in environmental studies)

Usage

TASSE_AWA(
  bathy,
  window_size = NULL,
  na.rm = FALSE,
  opt = c(1, 2),
  return_aspect = FALSE
)

Arguments

bathy

bathymetry (or dem) raster

window_size

a vector specifying the number of rows and columns c(nrow, ncol) or a single number if the window will have the same number of rows and columns

na.rm

whether to remove na's (default is FALSE)

opt

option for slope and aspect. 1 means calculate local mean of bathy with window size and then calculate terrain metrics using a 3x3 window on that (suffix LM). 2 means calculate terrain metrics first on raw bathymetry using a 3x3 window and then take local mean of of each within window size (suffix ATV). Both can be calculated using opt= c(1,2).

return_aspect

logical indicating whether to return aspect (default is FALSE)
