Utility function to find upstream variables
Description
Finds variables in prior blocks.
Usage
upstream_vars(blocks, varname, ...)
Arguments
blocks
A list where each element identifies a block in the funnel of causality.
varname
The name of the focal variable.
...
Other arguments to be passed down; currently not implemented.
