TCRR Documentation

One-percent-per-year increasing CO2 responses of 16 CMIP5 earth system models

Description

A dataset containing one-percent-per-year increasing CO2 responses of 16 earth system models. Data were produced as part of the fifth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5).

Usage

data("TCR")

Format

A list containing 16 dataframes, one for each climate model. Each dataframe contains the following time series:

  • temp - global mean surface temperature (K), averaged annually in years 1-150 of the one-percent-per-year increasing CO2 experiment.

  • flux - top-of-the-atmosphere net downward radiative flux (W/m2), averaged annually in years 1-150 of the one-percent-per-year increasing CO2 experiment.

Acknowledgements

We thank Olivier Geoffroy for kindly providing these data.

We acknowledge the World Climate Research Programme’s Working Group on Coupled Modelling, which is responsible for CMIP, and we thank the climate modeling groups for producing and making available their model output. For CMIP the U.S. Department of Energy’s Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison provides coordinating support and led development of software infrastructure in partnership with the Global Organization for Earth System Science Portals.
