Unemployment rates for Scotland by ethnicity

Description

This data set is for teaching and training purposes. Estimated unemployment rates for people (aged 16 and older) in Scotland from 2012 Q4 through 2022 Q1 by ethnic group (white or minority) and by ethnic group and sex (male or female). These estimates are reported quarterly and refer to the preceding twelve-month period. Note that the unemployment rate here only relates to people in the labour force, i.e., who are "economically active". Unemployment refers to people without a job, who can start work within two weeks following their survey interview, and who had either looked for work in the previous four weeks or were waiting to start a job. People that have stopped looking for work are not included in this unemployment figure.
