Purpose

The goal for developing this package is to provide functions for exploring, analyzing, and visualizing data about salmon. It is an opportunity for me to learn more about salmon and to experiment with analysis and visualization techniques. I am especially interested in the Open Source data that is being organized by the International Salmon Data Laboratory (ISDL) for the International Year of the Salmon.

Installation

You can install the latest (development) version of salmonstats from GitHub using the install_github command in R:

remotes::install_github("jimtyhurst/salmonstats")

Data sources

• Salmon Data References: references to external data sources used in this project.
• A very tiny subset of the Fish Passage Center's data is included with this package in the inst/extdata directory.

Analyses

• Rmd files of data analysis and visualization are provided in the vignettes directory.
