Metric Status Methodology

For each metric, an end of year projection is used to determine whether the metric is On Target, At Risk to Miss Target, or Off Target. The projection is calculated by taking the YTD number, and dividing by a ratio representing how much of the year has progressed.

For example, when calculating an end of year projection based on June numbers, the YTD is divided by (6 / 12) to obtain the end of year projection.

For metrics that are percentages or ratios, however, the end of year projection is the YTD number.

Once the end of year projection is calculated, the status is determined by:

On Target: The end of year projection of the metric is on target.
At Risk to Miss Target: The end of year projection of the metric is off target.
Off Target: The current YTD is off target.

YTD vs. Monthly Data
For metrics involving counts, the YTD number is a cumulative count of unique occurrences. The monthly numbers, however, are snapshots in time. This is why the YTD numbers do not necessarily equal to sums of the monthly numbers.
