seircovid2S

sircovid2S is an R package for running a compartmental model which captures the history of infection with 2 strains of SARS-CoV-2 in an age-structured population.

We consider the case of 2 strains of SARS-CoV-2 in circulation (1 and 2). Infection with any of the two strains is assumed to confer life-long immunity. The age-stratified population is assumed to have constant size and to be structured into:

• S = susceptibles
• I1 = infected with strain 1
• I2 = infected with strain 2
• R1 = recovered from infection with strain 1
• R2 = recovered from infection with strain 2
• I12 = currently infected with strain 2, having previously been infected with strain 1
• I21 = currently infected with strain 1, having previously been infected with strain 2
• R12 = recovered from infections with both strains
