NPDS Notification Database

Purpose

The purpose of this database is to track email notifications sent to state epidemiologist and poison control center contacts when an incident of public health significance is detected in the National Poison Data System (NPDS).

Location and description

Database is contained in an Excel file and is stored in the SharePoint site for NCEH-Epi. The database is located at https://cdc.sharepoint.com/:x:/r/teams/NCEH-Epi/Shared%20Documents/General/NPDS_notification_database.xlsx?d=w73a11d77449943e284bc1024443c4b9e&csf=1&web=1&e=MHzIhE

Connecting to the database

If you are trying to use this database with the DERTtools package, the easiest way to get access to the file is by syncing the SharePoint site with your computer.

Database specification

The Excel workbook contain 6 sheets that should be named:

• "notifications"
• "state_epis"
• "pcc"
• "surveillance_team"
• "exceptions"

The final sheet is named "specifications" and have a description of the database.
