Mark's review

Dit is een modern K3-liedje, gezongen door de volledig nieuwe formatie. Het liedje heeft qua tekst een vredegevend karakter doordat soldaten worden opgeroepen om te stoppen met oorlogvoeren. Het lied zelf is heel vrolijk en opgewekt. De verdere tekst over de tienduizend luchtballonnen vind ik wel leuk klinken.

Richel's review

This song is about asking soldiers to quit fighting wars by attaching a letter to an air balloon.

I am vey happy that this first song of the new K3 ensemble of Hanne, Klaasje and Marthe does not have a nonsensical title (see nonsensical titles for an overview). Too bad that good start gets spoiled by the jabbertalk at [4], with -as common for K3- an African-sounding voice joining in muttering the usual unknown words, except for [5]. I do not understand how only blue balloons [3] can result in a rainbow [1]. I except that the balloons are of every color, but that for the rhyme at [3] they color the sky blue. I think this is a bit cheap: the first hitsingle of the new K3 formation should have decent lyrics.

Note that I choose to stick to the Dutch/Flemish depiction of the number ten thousand as 10.000 [1] instead of the English notation of 10,000.

I enjoy the melody, the lyrics and the three new voices. Due to the jabbertalk [4] and cheap lyric [3] I will 'only' give it 8 out of 10, as the song has a lot of potential. Perhaps I will edit my version and cut out the jabbertalk...
