Earthquakes in New Zealand

A dataset containing locations and measurements of earthquakes in the New Zealand region.

nzquakes

A data frame with 334 rows and 12 variables:

Order: For ordering the observations
Latitude: The latitude ("Y") positions of the earthquakes
Longitude: The longitude ("X") positions of the earthquakes
Depth: Depth of the earthquake in kilometres
Felt: Was the earthquake felt?
Magnitude: Magnitude of the earthquake in Richter magnitude
RMS: Root mean square amplitude
NorMidSth: Region of New Zealand the earthquake occurred in (North, Mid, South)
Month: The month the earthquake occurred in (1–12)
Day: Day of the month the earthquake occurred on (1–31)
Hour: Hour of the day the earthquake occurred on (0–23)
Minute: Minute of the hour the earthquake occurred in (0–59)
