Tone Circles

Tone circles are pictograms based on the Circle of Fifths, containing relevant notes of a harmonic structures, highlighting their underlying geometric relationships. This has implications for interpreting relationships between pitch classes as angles, as well as geometric forms that can be used as the basis of a visual language.

Toward a functional analysis of John Coltrane's tone circles, this package aims to create a modular graphical language to visually and mathematically describe such musical relationships.
