validGO: Checks the validity of GO identifiers

Description

This function checks if a GO identifier is valid by looking it up in the GO.db package's GOTERM term map. Depending whether a namespace is provided, the function will look in one, multiple or all namespaces.

Usage

validGO(goid, namespace)

Arguments

goid

A vector of GO identifier.

namespace

One of several of "CC", "MF" or "BP".

Value

TRUE if goid is a valid GO identifier, FALSE otherwise.
