Data from "Primate energy expenditure and life history". Used for a phylogenetic regression exercise.
1 |
A data frame with 84 rows and 5 variables:
string: taxonomic species
string: taxonomic order
factor: primate or nonprimate
number: mass in kg
number: total energy expenditure in kcalories/day
The data are modified from what was released by the authors:
called the admixed Eulemur sp. data Eulemur fulvus
dropped the captive Lemur catta data
dropped the "captive" westerners Homo sapiens data
dropped the second Peromyscus maniculatus data point (which was not used in primate - nonprimate comparisons in Pontzer et al.)
added a "group" varible to sort out primates from non-primates
