The following methods for generic function monte will construct valid objects of class "monteDoubleSampling". Please see monte-methods in sampSurf for more details on other more general methods for the monte generic.

signature(object = "ssBigBAF")

This constructor method is only for use with objects of class "ssBigBAF".

  • object: An object of class "ssBigBAF".

  • n: A vector of sample sizes, n.

  • mcSamples: The number of Monte Carlo sample replicates to draw for each sample size.

  • alpha: The two-tailed alpha level for confidence interval calculation. I.e., for the 95% confidence level, specify alpha=0.05.

  • replace: See sample — for sampling with or without replacement.

  • boot: TRUE: include bootstrap & jacknife intervals; FALSE: do not resample.

  • numBSS: The number of bootstrap samples if boot.

  • description: A character description for the return object.

  • startSeed: A scalar specifying a random number seed for the Monte Carlo draws. See initRandomSeed for details.

  • runQuiet: TRUE: no feedback; FALSE: feedback if available.

  • sshh: TRUE: no extra feedback; FALSE: allows a little feedback, even if runQuiet = TRUE.

  • ... : Other arguments to be passed along perhaps eventually, right now they are “gobbled.”

signature(object = "monteBigBAF")

This constructor method is only for use with objects of class "monteBigBAF". It will accept an object from the above constructor and calculate the point-based delta method (PBDM) statistics for that object. The PBDM was not available at the time of writing of the above constructor—which is quite long—so this “extention” constructor was written for this purpose.
