Random generation for the Weibull distribution with parameters shape
and scale
.
This generator is called by function gensample
to create random variables based on its parameters.
If shape
or scale
are not specified they assume the default values of 1 and 1, respectively.
The Weibull distribution with shape
parameter k and scale
parameter λ has density given by
f(x) = (k/λ) (x/λ)^(k-1) e^(-(x/λ)^k)
for x > 0. The cumulative distribution function is F(x) = 1 - e^(-(x/λ)^k) on x > 0, the mean is E(X) = λ Γ(1 + 1/k), and the Var(X) = λ^2 * (Γ(1 + 2/k) - (Γ(1 + 1/k))^2).
