Our strategy? Divide and conquer!
Since global analyses require high-performance computing, an approach is to simplify
the global analysis into two regional analyses:
one analysis including the geographic extent for the East Hemisphere (or the Old World),
and other for the West Hemisphere (mainly the Americas).
After habitat connectivity within these hemisphere are calculated individually,
they are combined to produce a global map of habitat connectivity back.
