The package `kmerPyramid' is an interactive visualization tool that can be used 1) to study the relation of sequences to each other based on their nucleobase frequencies and 2) to identify conspicuous sequences with an extreme base composition 3) to compare coding and noncoding regions within a species, or 4) interspecies differences. The kmerPyramid is based on principal component analysis (PCA) that is used to project the multidimensional matrix of nucleobase and $k$mer frequencies in the 3dimensional space.
