Sometimes we join a team working on an existing project, or we just return to one of our own projects. We spend time figuring out which file contains what - R functions, scripts, data - and what does each file do and create?

There are many questions we want to ask to get an overview of the contents of a project. One is to determine which files define which functions. We can use a TAGS file for this. Alternatively we can parse each file and look for the assignments of the form f = function() ...
