sat_vap_dens: Saturation vapor density

Description

sat_vap_dens estimates the saturation vapor density, ρ_{s}, returning a value in g m^{-3}.

Usage

sat_vap_dens(es, Ta, R = 461.5)

Arguments

es

Saturation vapor pressure, e_{s} (kPa)

Ta

Air temperature, T_{a} (C).

R

Gas constant for water vapor, ρ_{s} (J kg^{-1} K^{-1}). Assumed to be 461.5.

Details

ρ_{s} is estimated by (Manton and Cotton 1977):

ρ_{s} = \frac{e_{s}}{R \cdot T_{a}}

Note that values for e_{s}, T_{a}, and ρ_{s} are converted to unit consistent values within the function.
