E_Hamon: Lake evaporation (Hamon method)

Description Usage Arguments Details

Description

E_Hamon provides an estimate of daily evaporation, E (mm day^{-1}) using data related to day length.

Usage

1
E_Hamon(D, ps, a = 0.55, conv = 25.4)

Arguments

D

Hours of daylight, D (hrs).

ps

saturation vapor density, ρ_{s} (g m^{-3}).

a

An empirical coefficient, assumed to be 0.55.

conv

A multiplier that converts base units to mm/day. It is assumed to be 25.4, but will need to be adjust for alternative units.

Details

Daily evaporation is determined via (Hamon 1961, Rosenberry et al. 2007):

a \bigg(\frac{D}{12}\bigg)^{2} \frac{ρ_{s}}{100} \cdot 25.4
