Division of functional objects

Description

This division is also able to divide functions and BayesSpace objects with constants. The quotient of two functions is a function that results in the quotient of the two results. The quotient of a BayesSpace objects (in BData) with a constant, is given by the BayesSpace operations of powering with the inverse value 1/y.

Usage

Arguments

x

a functional object

y

a functional object

Value

A BData object of the same subclass as the first argument (the Bayes-space sum / difference / scalar multiple / quotient).

Methods (by class)

  • Div(`function`): method for functions

  • Div(list): method for vectorizing over lists

  • Div(numeric): method for numerical values seen as constant functions

  • Div(BData): method for operating any BData object (argument 'x') by a numeric value (argument 'y'); defers calculations to 'Mul()'

Functions

  • Div.function(`function`): method for deviding two functions

  • Div.list(`function`): method for multiplying a function with each element of a list

  • Div.function(list): method for multiplying a function with each element of a list

  • Div.function(numeric): method for dividing a function with a constant

  • Div.numeric(`function`): method for deviding a constant with a function

  • Div.numeric(numeric): method for deviding two numeric values

  • Div.list(numeric): method for dividing each element of a list with a constant

  • Div.numeric(list): method for deviding a constant with each element of a list

  • Div.list(list): method for vectorized division of the elements of lists
