The support of the measures

Description

For this package the support tells what is needed to know for plotting

Usage

Support(a, b, X = c(), lim)

getSupport1DPlottingLimits(x)

getSupportAtoms(x)

getSupport(x, ...)

Arguments

a

lower limit of the continuous support interval (a,b), may be -Inf

b

upper limit of the continuous support interval (a,b), may be Inf, a==b (which should be a value in x) means no continuous support)

X

the discrete values of the support, possibly an empty vector.

lim

the effective xlim to use for plots or continuous evaluations on the support.

x

the object whos support shall be returned

...

further unused arguments for generic use

alpha

a small real number given the portion of the reference support to be ignored to avoid infinite supports.

extrems

a vector of two numerical values used to compute values near -Inf and Inf, to look whether the function is a density (approach zero at both sides) or a cdf (go from 0 to 1)

starts

starting values to find a point where the function is not zero.

Value

An object of class "Support" with the given parameters

Methods (by generic)

  • getSupport(Support): method for Support returns itself

Functions

  • getSupport1DPlottingLimits(): method for getting plotting limits of supports

  • getSupportAtoms(): method for getting values with mass

  • getSupport(): get the support associated to an object

  • getSupport(BayesSpace): method for BayesSpaces

  • getSupport(BayesSpaceBasis): method for BayesSpaces

  • getSupport(BData): method for BData

  • getSupport(ReferenceMeasureUniform): method for ReferenceMeasureUniform

  • getSupport(ReferenceMeasureDiscrete): method for ReferenceMeasureDiscrete

  • getSupport(ReferenceMeasureTransformed): method for ReferenceMeasureTransformed

  • getSupport(list): combines the supports of all Elements in the list

  • getSupport(`function`): tries to identify pdfs and cdfs and useds pdf2Support or cdf2Support, a simple 0,1 otherwise.

  • getSupport(numeric): guesses the support through sample2Support

  • getSupport(ListData): just calls NextMethod to hand over to the other classes

  • getSupport(ReferenceMeasureCartesianProduct): returns the product support

  • getSupport(varKernel): getter method for varKernel

  • getSupport(variationKernel): getter method for variationKernel
