Details

Titanic_boats describes the capacity, location, and launch time of the lifeboats on RMS Titanic. The article at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifeboats_of_the_RMS_Titanic gives many details about the launch and passengers placed on each boat. To put the boat launch times in context, note that the Titanic struck the iceberg at 12:40 pm on 14 April. The first lifeboat was launched about an hour later, in the early hours of 15 April. The collapsible boats were washed off Titanic as the ship sank. The ship disappeared below the surface at 2:20 am.
