Description

A sample of the UCDP GED (version 21.1), information on violent events including casualty estimates. The variables are as follows:

• id. Unique event identifer.

• year. Year event began.

• month. Month event began.

• day. Day event began.

• country. Country of event.

• type_of_violence. UCDP violence type.

• conflict_name. Name of conflict.

• side_a. Side A. See UCDP codebook.

• side_b. Side B. See UCDP codebook.

• longitude. Longitude.

• latitude. Latitude.

• low_death. Low estimate of number of deaths.

• best_death. Best estimate of number of deaths.

• high_death. High estimate of number of deaths.
