dataset on the placement of 550,000+ unaccompanied migrant children with local sponsors between January 2015 and May 2023. The variables are as follows:

A (tibble) data frame with 553,322 rows and 9 variables.

Details

• childs_country_of_origin. Country of origin of the child.

• childs_gender. Gender of child.

• childs_date_of_entry. Date of entry of child.

• childs_date_of_release. Date of release of child.

• sponsor_category. Category of sponsor (note: I recoded "Family Friend" as "Distant relative or unrelated adult").

• relationship_of_sponsor. Relationship of sponsor to child.

• state_abbr. State abbreviation of sponsor.

• county. County of sponsor.

• city. City of sponsor.
