dot-f0: Probability of allele loss

.f0R Documentation

Probability of allele loss

Description

Estimate the probability that an allele is lost due to random genetic drift.

Usage

.f0(p, b)

Arguments

p

number in (0; 1): initial heteroplasmy.

b

number in (0; 1): drift parameter.

Details

The parameter p corresponds to the initial heteroplasmy, and therefore is also equal to the mean heteroplasmy after genetic drift.

The parameter b corresponds to the amount of drift, and is equal to b = exp(-t/N_eff), where t denotes time and N_eff denotes effective sample size.

Value

The probability the allele is lost due to genetic drift.
