dot-f1: Probability of fixing allele

.f1R Documentation

Probability of fixing allele

Description

Estimate the probability that an allele is fixed (i.e. the wildtype is lost) due to random genetic drift.

Usage

.f1(p, b)

Arguments

p

number in (0; 1): initial heteroplasmy.

b

number in (0; 1): drift parameter.

Details

The parameter p corresponds to the initial heteroplasmy, and therefore is also equal to the mean heteroplasmy after genetic drift.

The parameter b corresponds to the amount of drift, and is equal to b = exp(-t/N_eff), where t denotes time and N_eff denotes effective sample size.

Value

The probability the allele is fixed due to genetic drift.
