Description

A dataset containing an index of US EPA Superfund sites in South Carolina. Superfund sites are the EPA's determination of the most contaminated lands and environmental emergencies which require a long-term effort in order to completely eliminate the hazardous materials. The processed dataset includes the site name, identification numbers, latitude/longitude, and census tract information. The dataset is categorized as a Natural and Built Environment Determinant of Health.

A data frame with 33 rows and 9 columns

cleanup_name

The name of the property where a hazardous waste site is located

epa_id

EPA Identification Number, which identifies handlers of hazardous waste

superfund_id

Superfund ID Number

frs

Facility Registery Service (FRS) Identification Number, for the FRS, which is maintained by the EPA to provide quality information regarding facilities, sites, and places that are subject to regulation

geoid

GEOID

tract_latitude

Latitude of the Census Tract Centroid

tract_longitude

Longitude of the Census Tract Centroid

lat

Site Latitude

lon

Site Longitude
