Bird species richness in different habitat patches sampled in Jamaica.

A data frame with 306 rows and 5 variables:
patchcharacter identifier for each habitat patch
Sinteger species richness (number of unique species observed)
landscapecharacter landscape type (Agriculture, Bauxite, Forest, or Urban )
areadouble area of the habitat patch (ha)
log.area.double log area of the habitat patch
yearinteger year of observation
These data were used by Jack Weiss in his ecological statistics course (site no longer available). The data almost surely come from Kennedy, C. M., Marra, P. P., Fagan, W. F., & Neel, M. C. (2010). Landscape matrix and species traits mediate responses of Neotropical resident birds to forest fragmentation in Jamaica. Ecological Monographs, 80(4), 651-669.
