Fisheries Research: A Short Communication is a concise but complete description of a limited investigation, which will not be included in a later paper. Short Communications should be as completely documented, both by reference to the literature and description of the experimental procedures employed, as a regular paper. Fish and Fisheries? 'Ghoti' forum contributions 'Ghoti' is a forum section for publishing stimulating commentary and opinion. (The name derives from George Bernard Shaw's joke spelling of 'fish' - 'gh' as in 'rough', 'o' as in 'women' and 'ti' as in 'palatial'.) CJFAS: Rapid communications --- New concepts, methodology, and topical or controversial subjects. Rapid communications are less than 2500 words in text with a maximum of 12--15 references and a total of 2 figures and/or tables. The manuscript should be double spaced, including references, tables, and figure captions, and formatted for 21.5 × 28 cm (8.5 × 11 in.) or ISO A4 paper, with 2.54 cm (1 in.) margins on all sides. Each page should be numbered, beginning with the title page. Continuous line numbers should also be included for the text.
