The cumulative effect of bgc and selection. If bgc and sel are
population-scaled parameters describing biased gene conversion and selection,
then x should be sel+bgc for strong mutations, sel-bgc for weak mutations, a
and sel for neutral mutations.
Value
x/(1-e^(-x)), the factor to scale the rate matrix entry by.
